Why Start A Fitness Journey Now?

As the title asks, Why start a fitness journey now? Well, why not now? It’s something positive to do other than binge-watching shows. For the record, I have no problem with that at all. But what do you do when your butt gets numb?
I’ve put on a few pounds during 2019, it was a rough year and I’d like to take the extra weight off. With Social Distancing there really isn’t anywhere to go so if we wanted to take a nap after working out we can!

So what might a fitness journey look like? For myself, less snacking is a good start. How I plan to implement that is by using my WW app food tracker. If I don’t want to record or read it in the app, I shouldn’t eat it.
Now on to the sticky wicket EXCERCISE!!! anything high impact is out of the question as I have hip issues. My ortho tells me I’m a walker and after much serious negotiation on my part…I am a walker.

So with that in mind here is what I’m thinking for cardio I will continue to use my Walk Away The Pounds DVDs. If you don’t have them no worries videos are available on YouTube. A twenty-minute workout is in my previous post.
For stretching and balance Yoga and Pilates. I like the calm and the stretch of yoga and I like the length and the tone I feel with Pilates Now for the part that hurts me the most Strength Training it just hurts so bad, I have arthritis and get super sore.

My Ortho told me “You can’t do enough leg lifts!!” and he meant that. So started my love-hate relationship with the Tracy Anderson Method, the workout has a lot of leg lifts. It hurts to walk afterward but after a few days, my hips feel great. So for my fitness journey, I will attempt to embody the grace and charm of my Tracy Anderson role model and Woman Crush Everyday Tracee Ellis Ross and see where it takes me. I picked up a new tube of Aspercream just in case and will the beginners’ workout available here. No matter what you do to keep active and I hope you decide to continue or begin to be active choose something easy and fun, you will be more likely to stick with it.
